Dreamy boho inspired valentines styled shoot, blending modern bohemia and romantic vibes in an industrial setting. New Craven Hall is a unique wedding venue for the modern couple with lots of warehouse character softened by fairy lights. In the heart of Leeds just a stones throw from the city center the urban luxe venue is so different with it’s red brick interior and concrete floor. Warm blush and dark caramel tones with accents of monochrome throughout set the scene. The aim was to create a romantic Valentines feel with an overall modern boho vibe. Planning and concept was a collaboration between Kirstie from Daze Photography, Kim from Props and Knots hire and Hannah from Botanical Cakes. Bringing a fusion of ideas for styling, an eco friendly ethos and a shared love of all things bohemian.
Props and Knots Hire is a new business providing wedding arches, macrame and various props for hire with styling included. The perfect match for a bohemian styled wedding with various macrame hangings and wedding arches which create a beautiful backdrop for ceremonies, top tables and cake tables etc. Kim designed and made the stunning macrame dream catcher wall hanging which hung on the wooden hexagon, it was a real show stopper! 24 hours in the making! As well as hiring her pieces you can also buy them from @indie.rose.macrame
She also made the macrame place mats and table hanging which adorned the top table.
The amazing cake and cake favorites were the creation of Hannah from Botanical Cakes. She blew me away with her creativity; hand crafting orchid sugar flowers and lace with added palm leaves and a bird cage insert which we added a love lock to. All the colors were tied in with the theme and the black paint splats on the white cake framed beautifully by the black arch gave it the wow factor! The heart and cakesicle favorites were finished with scalloped lace which matched the dress. So much attention to detail!
The stunning Giusy C lace gown from Limelight Occasions was perfection with it’s scalloped edge spilt front teamed with cream fedora and boots for an edgy bohemian look. The subtle sequins nestled within the lace glistened in the candle and fairy lights. Model Kayleigh looked stunning, her makeup by Sarah Atkinson makeup with peaches, nude and blush tones. She looked flawless, so natural with the added lashes for a hint of glamor.
Florals were provided courtesy of new business Mary and Mai who create amazing rental pieces for weddings and events. Their designs are breath taking, mixing artificial flowers and dried pampas and palms which can be arranged in different ways to suit your venue and styling. For this shoot they created 2 pillars that could be broken down to smaller displays, a pampas and dried palm leaf cloud, a stunning bouquet with silk orchids and a small display for the top table. The main benefits of having rental pieces as opposed to fresh flowers are the costs being significantly cheaper, sustainability making them the eco friendly option and they look so realistic you wouldn’t even know they were artificial! The pillars were also so versatile as they could be moved, initially used to frame the hexagon for the ‘ceremony’ and then at the ends of the tables.
Leanne from Sheaf Stationery is not your average graphic designer! She puts so much thought into her designs, having worked with her before I knew she would look at the mood board and come up with something perfect and she did not disappoint! The bold modern font coupled with the font that matched the neon, the textured paper and the uber cool patterned envelope I absolutely loved! The clever design of the curved edged save the date could be made into a heart shape for that very subtle nod to Valentines not to mention the signage with ‘You Got The Love’, the ‘couples’ first dance song.
The table settings had silver edged glass plate, peach napkins and black cutlery and glasses for a modern boho look. Kate from Sashes and Covers had the idea for macrame place mats which Kim made especially for the shoot. They looked superb, visible through the glass plates. Finishing touches were candles, table linens, sashes for the chairs, a macrame for the top table and artificial flower display. Kate also worked her magic on the chair sashes for the ceremony, tying them to the side so that candles and pampas grass in vases could line the aisle next to them.
Beth from No 12 Weddings created the Welcome sign, Take a seat and Cards & Gifts signage. Using modern fonts and neutral colors it gave a contemporary look. The copper frame matched the copper handles of the suitcase for the cards & gifts tables and the wooden hanger was perfect for the welcome sign.
Finishing touches were the ‘Happily Ever After’ neon from Ido Hire and the black and white heart shaped confetti from Your Confetti which tied everything together nicely.
Shoot day was a dream! I felt so lucky to have so many talented wedding suppliers and creative brains under one roof. Everyone chipped in and helped with the set up, lit candles and help tidy away. It was lovely to meet new suppliers and also work again with various people from previous shoots. Hopefully we give couples lots of lovely boho inspired ideas to make their day unique!
